Reactions to Drug Allergies
Billings Allergy Testing & Allergy Shots
Adverse reactions to medications are fairly common; however, determining whether your reaction was caused by a true allergy can help prevent recurrent reactions in the future. During a consultation at Montana Allergy and Asthma Specialists, our allergist will review your medical history to trace times when you might have been exposed to potential allergens in the past, track reactions, and form a chart of interactions with various common allergens. Then, a skin test can confirm whether the reaction truly was an allergic reaction, or if your body may simply have a sensitivity to certain medications.
Most often, individuals are allergic to:
- Penicillin or other similar antibiotics
- Insulin
- Ibuprofen
- Anticonvulsants
- Chemotherapy
